“It was a genuine pleasure working with Kay. She developed and delivered our vision of a customized modular training series that incorporated her expertise in working with individuals living with dementia through a person centered, trauma informed lens, and exceeded our vision in every way. The training was well-designed for adult learners and was very engaging.”
“Over the past 20 years, I have been blessed to share a bit of the journey with Kay – professionally and personally. Kay is one of those unique individuals who possesses the passion, the knowledge, the experience, and the skills to support and to companion families through some of the toughest times of life. Those in her care or in her classes feel seen and heard. Honored and respected. Informed and well advised.
As a natural storyteller, Kay weaves tales that serve to inform – if not transform – the journey of life. For those confronting the daunting challenges of chronic or terminal illness, dementia, or end-of-life care, Kay is a priceless resource. So remember – Compassion Works LLC.”
“Kay has a gift for taking the overwhelming and confusing experience of being diagnosed with dementia or of caring for someone who has dementia and making sense of it all. Using her breadth of experience, Kay is able to help families understand what dementia is, what impact it has on relationships, and how to plan for the future.
Kay’s ability to use examples and stories to help people connect their personal experiences to the skills and concepts she’s teaching makes her an incredible speaker, coach, and instructor, whether she’s working with an individual or speaking to an audience of hundreds. The experience of dementia is a marathon, not a sprint, and Kay will be there to give families the skills and information they need to make it through with their health, relationships, and well-being intact.”
“Kay is an exceptional and engaging public speaker; she weaves narrative into her presentations in a way that validates the experiences of her audience. Kay’s work has an artisanal quality; she addresses universal needs in a touchingly personalized way.”
“I’ve had the privilege and honor of working with Kay Adams during her tenure at Kaiser Permanente Colorado. I am a geriatrician and care for many people who have dementia, as well as for their care partners. Kay has unbounded enthusiasm for helping care partners of those living with dementia, and a wonderful ability to create a safe space for them to discuss their deepest concerns and fears in a welcoming and judgment-free environment. I have referred many of my patients’ family members to Kay’s educational offerings, and they have universally found Kay’s seminars to be incredibly helpful and supportive.“
“Kay connects deeply with people. Her presence and compassion are calming. Her seasoned wisdom provides relief and hope. Through her work as a social worker, facilitator, coach, and presenter, Kay has touched thousands of lives. If I could clone her, I’d order 1,000 (as a start) and then ask for more. Kay makes this world such a better place!”
